Hiya all,
Today we are forecast another day of over 43 C (110F) temperatures. We are seriously baking here.
You know I'm hot and "past it" when I hide from dad dad in the mornings when he wants to take me for a walk to do "my business". I bury my head into my animal cushions on the couch and think I can do "my business" in the garden today. Four steps and I can be back in air-conditioning!!
Mum is working full-time on keeping the plants and garden going and helping the wild birdies stay alive.
Our Birdie-bath is the place be be if you are wild bird around these parts.
When that gets overcrowded....
Mum has cleaned out the Birdie-bath that she doesn't use anymore and fills it fresh every day. See how Bidies "puff" when they get hot just like us Dawgs!
She even puts out extra plastic trays ...... and if the bigger birds HOG it.....
She puts out more so the little birdies can drink without getting pecked at...
So - we are still kickin' here in Adelaide.
Me and the Birdies.
Oh Rubie, your burdies are just beautifuls!!! I loves burdies too! We gets all kinds in the spring nestin' and bathin' in our fountains. Good for your Moms keepin' all the water for the little guys fresh and cool!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I totally agree abouts the no walkies in the heat thingie! I mean, why go further than you have to from that nice cool crisp air conditioner?! Smart gurl!
Keep cool and safe!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥

Oh, Rubie, we know how you feel, we had four 40 degree days in a row last month. Our human arranged to work from home so we could have the air conditioner on.
ReplyDeleteWe're supposed to get to 30 today, but we're only at 25 so far. It's very hazy from all the bush fire smoke. Luckily it won't be too hot to go to the beach later - 30 is ok, but 40 definitely is not!
Stay cool!

Howdy Rubie, good on ya mum for helping the birdies!! So far today we've only reached 35C in them thar hills hehe. Luckily mum isn't working so we are inside in the cool. Take care sweetie pie.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, and love, Stella and Rory
It's hot here, but nothin' like you're gettin'. We've only reached 40° about 3 times. We put some water out for the birdies, but they didn't trust it. So they just sat on the verandah and panted.....dumb birds.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Keep cool....we MAY get rain later this week.
Those plastic containers for the birds is a great idea and cute too. Have a wonderful Wednesday and try and stay cool.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
those birdies must be so happy to have some water to drink and to cool off in. Well done guys
ReplyDeleteOH RUBIE..... We WISH we could send you some of our FRIGID temperatures It was -13 F here this morning...
ReplyDeleteWe have been hearing about your horrid HEAT and very VERY dry temperatures... Your mum is a SAINT to put out all that life saving water fur the birds... and in different Locations to take everybuddy's needs in consideration.
HERE we are Feeding our birds Cracked Corn and Sunflower Seeds... to keep them going...
Yesterday we got another 50 pounds of EACH... that will only last a week.
WE think that WE need to have a serious SIT DOWN with Mother Nature. She needs to be a bit more GENTLE on the Top and Bottom of the planet.
Rubie, a big WELL DONE to your Mom for looking after the birdies. Is there anywhere in the whole world with good weather just now? There's you cooking, us in the UK drowning and our American cousins freezing.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and close to the air conditioning.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Hey Rubie!
ReplyDeleteWow, I wish we could trade...some of my minus 15 chill for your 110 heat and we'd both be comfy. BOL So nice to help the poor hot birdies. Mine are freezing, but we're feeding them well.
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Pol Comm
I love to see happy birdies! Those birdies are lucky to live at your house!

Rubie, you and your mom are the sweetest! I love how you are taking good care of all the birdies so they do not overheat. I do not blame you for only wanting to do your business in the garden. I say 10 steps away from air conditioning is 10 steps too many!
