A puss cat and mouse from the past

Good morning all,

As some of you might know, before me my mum had rescued a black cat and they lived together for lots and lots of years until Cleo crossed the rainbow bridge.

This is Cleo. She gave my parents years and years of happiness. And she could sit where she wanted!

This is the "ceramic" Cleo that is under her fav table, where she used to curl up and nap. My mum made this and Cleo's ashes are going to be put inside. Mum has been slack in making that happen. The ceramic Cleo is a nice reminder of her.

Mum was going through some old stuff in a cupboard (mum has trouble throwing anything away so the cupboards are full!), and she found one of Cleo's favourite things:

A little furry mouse. She then gave it to me, and I LOVE IT! I was chewing on it lots yesterday. It even had a tail......but uummm.....now it doesn't seem to anymore. I think I took care of that! I still like the rest of it.

So Cleo, I know you are watching us from the bridge..... but thanks mate for my new toy!!

  3. wow your Mom made that ceramic cat? That is amazing!
Cleo was such a gorgeous baby!! I know how your Mom feels because I lost my Angel Bobo almost 4 yrs ago at the age of 18.
Please be careful with that mouse because I have heard of dogs eating cat toys and ending up needing surgery! I am sure your Mom is watching you closely so that doesn't happen.
Thanks for sharing Cleo with us!

  4. Thanks for the tip Caren and Cody - I checked the toy first for any weak points - but it is pretty sturdy - the tail was a leather strap and I collected it after it met its demise! Rubie is pretty good with her toys and there is very little real destruction. Thanks for reading! Rubie's mum.

  5. Oh - and yes I also do ceramics as a hobby. I have made little urns for pet ashes before - but somehow this ceramic cat seemed perfect because it fits in the exact spot Cleo occupied in her last months. She had kidney failure but she lived to 16 - so she had a good, long life and was spoiled rotten. Rubie's mum.
