Outback Dawg.....Flinders Ranges Pawt 1

Hiya all,

Some of you would have noticed it's been all quiet from my end..... I've been "out of office" .... but we have had another huge adventure in the "Peep Kennel on Wheels" (PKW) - so I want to tell you all about it.... (and I hope to get around to your bloggies to see what you have been up to as soon as I can)!

This is us the morning we left..... dad dad has the very impawtant role of making sure the PKW follows us very closely.... instead of detaching and having its own hollingday... BOL!

We stopped here after about three hours of driving..... put some fuel in the car and I got out and stretched my furry legs. While I was reading pee mail and leaving some notes of my own..... I saw all these funny critters looking at me from their truck!

They were very interested in me..... perhaps I was the only mini schnauzer they had ever seen? Mum said they were camels.... and said that it is a little known fact that there are LOADS and LOADS of them roaming free and wild in the most inhospitable areas of the Australian outback. These ones were lucky enough to hitch a ride!

Soon we were off again..... and soon the flat landscape started to look a little "hill-ier"...... and hotter.

I love this picture because it looks like I am driving! BOL!

We drove through a few little country towns.... and mum liked the look of this Old Mill.

Geez...... we are still driving..... it's been five hours now..... and I'm getting a little bored - as well as wondering where the heck we are going!

Are we there yet?????!!!

OOOoooo we got to this sign and started slowing down.... perhaps this is the place?

We turned in at this sign ..... the peeps tell me we are in the Flinders Ranges.... dinky di outback Australia..... I just hope there is air-conditioning and inter-nuts here!!

We book into the Powered sites and I watch the peeps huff and puff and build our patio attached to the PKW. See that caravan (PKW) behind us.... they were very nice peeps from the Blue Mountains ( outside of Sydney) and we got along really well. I got lots of pats and showed them some of my tricks.

This is the view from the front of our PKW. Those mountains are the edge of a place called Wilpena Pound. Google Wilpena Pound for more info if you want more info!

Whew - all that setting up was exhausting!! Need a little rest now. It's pretty warm you know.

This was the view out the back of the patio window (mum says sorry for the quality but she had to shoot through the netting).... nice birdies!

And this is the view outside the front of our spot...... H-E-C-K!!!!!! WHAT IS THAT?????????

Stay tuned for Pawt 2!
