Not "the best" play day.

Hi ya,

I'm a bit subdued at the moment. You see - I have developed an owchie below my ear, and I wouldn't leave it alone because it was itchy, so I went to the V-E-T-S on Saturday and this is the result:

Sadness personified.

Then came Monday....our puppy play-day with Scarlet and Zoe. Mum and dad dad made me keep this stoopid cone on for it and everything! But I was not the only sad one on play-day.

You see - Scarlet, Zoe and uncie arrived as usual.... then uncie had to leave because he had to go to someplace and do some website and commppuuting work. So then our place was all depressed "times three!!"

Scarlet and Zoe: Waddayamean dad dad is leaving us?????

Scarlet and Zoe:  OOOhhh woe is us!!

Not even a round of piggy ears could cheer us up! My stoopid cone meant I couldn't play bitey face!

Scarlet: Auntie.....I loves you...but I really miss my dad dad when he is not with me!!!

Scarlet: Maybe a liver treat would make me feel a little better??

Scarlet: And another beef cube????

Scarlet: Was that the front door??

Scarlet: I'll just watch the road for our car.

Scarlet:   (sigh)......where is he????? All this waiting!

Zoe: Don't worry Scarlet...... he always comes back to us! He can't bear to be apart from us either!

Uncie did come back, and tried to explain to Scarlet and Zoe that he occasionally does have to do some work, otherwise they would be living on a park bench and starving....BOL!

So that problem was solved.....but it does not solve my cone-head problem. I'm stuck with this until the owchie heals!   :-(

  4. Oh Rubie - what a sad day! You all look so down in the dumps. I can understand about the cone - I hate those things too. Hope it can soon come off and you can get back to bitey face games with Scarlet & Zoe. You mentioned about beard stains on your message to us - Judith & Leigh said it is difficult to do much about it as it's saliva that causes the staining and you would really have to keep washing and drying the beard every time you had anything to eat or drink!! Some people say the food makes a difference but we've had kibble and raw food and all good stuff but still got stains - and there are several products that say they whiten it but don't work really well. We were recommended putting a small amount of vinegar in the drinking water but I wouldn't say that did much good either :-( If we find anything that really works for us we'll let you know - love from Magic xx

  16. Oh Rubie! I am so sorry about your ouchie! I am sending lots of healing slobbers and hope that it heals quickly! I had to wear that awful cone thing when I had my spay (and mine was 10 times bigger than yours!! I used to get stuck trying to go through doorways!) - so I know how depressed you feel with it on.

Ohhhh....Zoe & Scarlett's faces just melted our hearts!! Those expressions!! My human, Hsin-Yi, has such a soft spot for Schnauzers you know - especially your eyebrows and your woozles! But she thinks she probably couldn't handle a fiesty, guarding type breed like you! :-) Life is still a bit easier & quieter with easy-going, lazy ME! :-)

    Slobbers,
    Honey the Great Dane

  17. Oh no, my dear sweet Rubie, what a pity you have to wear the cone of shame - but at least it won't be long now until everything's healed up. You all look so sad sat there, we have days like that don't we - pity we weren't close by, I'd be visiting with some flowers and treats to cheer you up :-) Your very own Dex xxx

  18. Just an add-on to the previous comment I left regarding those beard stains. Some people do swear by using Apple Cider Vinegar in the drinking water (1 teaspoon to a bowlful) to keep beards and furnishings white so it might be worth a try. It didn't seem to be that great with our gang but some do find it successful :-) - Leigh (Magic's Mum)
