OMD ...... it's H-O-T here!!!!!

My furiends..... it's hotter than a Volcano here at home at the moment. Here we are visiting my Grandpaw.

ZOE: Yes sir-ee - we need to have some stayin' cool tips here.

Scarlet and I suggest - don't do zoomies in the "big hot sun" time of the day..... and in the early evening - find some nice cool lush grass to lie on.

SCARLET: And on the inside of your house - lie up high and position yourself under the nearest air-conditioning duct!!! Do not let the peeps move you. A soft growl will tell em' who is boss!

ZOE: Always have big bowls of nice cool water handy.

Don't forget your veggie garden - see what Grandpaw has to do:

He has to build big umbrellas to shield his plants from the ferocious hot days here in Adelaide.

He hasn't planted many tomatoes this year - but if he doesn't cover them - the tomatoes will burn and cook on the plant! Last week we had a 44 C day (111.2F) and it was BAD!

Even my mum and dad dad cover the veggie garden with two big king size sheets after Christmas - traditionally late January and February here produce the really hot days! Today we are going to get 42 (that's 107.6F).

OOoooo here is Grandpaw coming back in the from the garden with a green bowl. Scarlet and I are excited and want to see what he's got! What's in there.....what's in there?????

I see three tomatoes, three capsicums and two eggs. The chickens are still laying (even though we bark very loudly at them when Grandpaw forgets to put up the little schnauzer gate...BOL!)

My mum and uncie gave us schnauzers our schnauzery hair cuts last Monday..... we hate the process - (especially me!) but we do feel cooler afterwards.

I know my furiends overseas are having the opposite weathers at the moment..... so be good and stay cool..... or stay warm ..... whatever is applicable for you!!

Bye for now, Tail Wuggles, Rubie xxx

  1. Rubie - when it is HOT here, I like to lie on the cool tile in the house. I like to feel the cool tile on my belly. Also.. Mom sometimes give me ice chips.
Stay cool and hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate. In between that… you might have to pee too.

  2. You poor things. We don't ever get those kind of temperatures. Last summer was really hot but we never get that high. I sure wish I could offer you a swim in my river. But you are way to far away.

It is 4 degrees F. here and I was gonna complain about that but I would rather have cold than hot.

Hope you find some good places to stay cool.

  3. That sounds pretty hot, BOL. Even the veggies have an umbrella. Where's your pool?
    Benny & Lily

  4. Munch on some nice ice cubes while laying over the air vents. Or maybe some ice cream will do the trick. Ice cream sounds really yummy right about now.

The veggie garden looks great! What else is Grandpaw growing under there?

    Lily Belle & Muffin

  5. You and your gang just hop on an airplane and come visit us in Minniesnowda, USA. The temperature tonight is 15 degrees below zero F. and I guarantee you it will cool you right off. (I think that is -26.111 C.)

    Stella, Jo and Zkhat

  6. That is hotter than a volcano! I'm glad I don't live where it gets like that. We are having very cold days coming up so why don't you come by to cool off.

  7. Oh I am so happy I stopped by I feel much warmer now. Think about it if we mixed our two extremes we would have perfect weather. Keep cool friend.

  8. Our tip. Move to Scotland. At any time of year. 22ºC counts as a hot day in Aberdeen.
At least you had a (smart) haircut.
    Toodle pip!

  9. And we thought it was hot here....only 38 C (100.4 F)We've been employing your advice about staying under the flow of the a/c. It's supposed to be 40 C tomorrow. Looks like another day for hibernating. Our grass is brown and dry after our time away from home. Would love some nice, cool grass.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  10. It is cold here. We may get snow at the weekend. Out with the thermals. We hope you get a break in the hot weather soon. Stay cool. Have a terrific Thursday.
    Best wishes Molly

  11. Ouch, that is VERY VERY hot! We have fur coats we can't remove either... :( I thought Singapore was hot... It's only about 30+ºC out here though. All year round. Hmm. Maybe not so good either. Good luck with staying cool! (Pun unintended)

  12. Oooh that IS hot, horribly hot in fact. We've got the opposite, we're expecting snow tonight and tomorrow, it's freezing and icey outside right now. Don't know which is better, cold or heat? Here we rarely have heat, but in France in the summer we found frozen pieces of fruit were good to cool off with :)

  13. THAT is SCORCHING HOT.... your grandpa is a genius fur covering everythingy that way. WOW... he got quite a Haul from the Garden and Chicks (chooks) is that the right way to say that?
    We just love your background.
You all TRY to stay cool. We will do our best to stay warm.

  14. Wow, that's Texas hot! Maybe you should come visit me for the rest of your summer, then I'll come visit you for ours!

  15. We had all that hot stuff last summer here. We have cold now but you know we sibes love the cold. Mom says she would like it to be somewhere in the middle - BOL.

Stay cool - those veggies look very tasty.

Woos- Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  16. Howdy Rubie, wowza yes it was sooooo hot yesterday and we had to stay outside!! Mum was working at home with little kids and we aren't allowed inside. Lucky though we had shade, some huge ice blocks to lick and were ok. Glad it's cooler today though. Have a good weekend Rubie. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  17. I cants believe youse are having hot weather, it is FREEZING here in Liverpool, but then again it's not that bad cause WE FINALLY HAVE SNOW WOOOOOOOOo!!
    Love Milo :)

  18. Rubie, those are some great tips that I am gonna keep in mind for summer. Thanks my sweet pal and keep cool.

    Loveys Sasha

  19. Oh that is HOT - not sure we could manage in that volcano heat. Wouldn't mind it a bit warmer though It is -7C here today and colder at night and more snow heading our way. We just snuggle up on the sofa and keep warm together - even the cats are on the top of the sofa by the heater :-) Hope you can keep cool today and the veggies don't die in the heat - woofs and licks from Magic xx

  20. Stay cool, my pals. I know what it is like to be H-O-T...the South Florida sun can be brutal too! What lovely treats Grandpaw got from the garden. I hope they were delicious!

    Your pal, Oz

  21. Hey Rubie!
Wow, wouldn't it be great if we could trade weather for even a few days?!? It's freezing here. I suggest some swimmie time to cool off. Works great for me!
BTW: I totally love your header pix!
    Grr and Woof,
    Sarge, COP

  22. Woowee that is HOT! Glad you have some nice shade to chill in :) Soft growl keeps the peeps from movin ya? Hmmm...will give that a whirl ;) Fab garden you have! Wow! Had to laugh when I first looked in your bowl- I saw the eggs and thought - how did they grow those? BOL! Daft moment :P

    Waggin at ya,

  23. Wowzer Bowzer, that is hot hot hot! Those were good tips for staying cool and taking care of the plants too. Time for a swim now!!

  24. Hi Rubie, you sure do look hot, hot, hot! I think that Scarlet has the right idea there, air conditioning is just great in the heat! I love the photos of you and Zoe out in the garden, did you get an egg, tomato or...what is a capsicum??
You look sooo funny trying to look in to the bowl Rubie, those cute ears and paws awww!
Enjoy your time at Grandpaws, it looks like you have had so much fun!
