So much has happened....... catch up report:

Hiya all,

Soooo much has happened since my last post. Your head will be spinnin' with all this stuffs.

I got stungs by a not-so-friendly BEE. It stungs me on the back paw pad.... and I took 24 hrs of moping around to get over it. I had some first aid and Mum says it's the quietest I have ever been. My paw hurt.

Another day, dad dad and I got the rest of the big tree out my yard.

All that snoopervisin' was exhausting..... and there was quality schnuffing to do in the dug up dirts and stuff.

We had "Father's Day" - and my mum baked this Blackforest Cherry Cake for her Dad - my Grandpaw. I cannot report if it was good or not, coz I was NOT allowed to try some. (*humpf*)

While at Grandpaws' - I tried to teach Scarlet and Zoe the art of "Chicken Whispering" but they were crap at it.

The key is to remain calm and quiet, without sudden movements.... but they cannot do this like I can.

It was unseasonably warm for Grandpaws' Fathers Day BBQ .... we enjoyed the shade (and some meats off the BBQ).

We gots a new car. You know I don't like gettin' in cars. It's one of my things. This one has slippy seats so my back seat schnauzer sling moves around and I'm just not impressed .... still.

One day dad dad took me on our daily walk.... inbetween the rain showers.

Yea - good one dad dad. Don't go into weather forecastin' !!

Scarlet came to my place and she likes to sit at the dinner table when mum stands up .... she is still waiting for "her" plate. Dream on Scarlet!!

Zoe has to wear this thick baby sock. She got bitten or cut by something and got an infected front paw. She had to go to the V-E-T lady . There was pus and everything.

Zoe ..... I like your purple sock! Does it still hurt????

Last story.... there was a huge fireworks display just over our hill at one of the local schools. There was bangin' and sparklin' .... and mum managed to get this really crappy picture of one of them. The imPAWtant thing.... is that mum held me and showed me the bangin' and sparklin' .... I usually go hide under a desk. But this time I got really brave ..... I shivered a bit .... and DUG my claws into the soft bits of mum ..... but I stuck it out and go over it and even kinda enjoyed it at the end. My pawrents were very pround of me coz I can be a real "cot case" over things like this.

That's been my life in the last 3 weeks or so. Hope you enjoyed my report!!

OMD ...... it's H-O-T here!!!!!

My furiends..... it's hotter than a Volcano here at home at the moment. Here we are visiting my Grandpaw.

ZOE: Yes sir-ee - we need to have some stayin' cool tips here.

Scarlet and I suggest - don't do zoomies in the "big hot sun" time of the day..... and in the early evening - find some nice cool lush grass to lie on.

SCARLET: And on the inside of your house - lie up high and position yourself under the nearest air-conditioning duct!!! Do not let the peeps move you. A soft growl will tell em' who is boss!

ZOE: Always have big bowls of nice cool water handy.

Don't forget your veggie garden - see what Grandpaw has to do:

He has to build big umbrellas to shield his plants from the ferocious hot days here in Adelaide.

He hasn't planted many tomatoes this year - but if he doesn't cover them - the tomatoes will burn and cook on the plant! Last week we had a 44 C day (111.2F) and it was BAD!

Even my mum and dad dad cover the veggie garden with two big king size sheets after Christmas - traditionally late January and February here produce the really hot days! Today we are going to get 42 (that's 107.6F).

OOoooo here is Grandpaw coming back in the from the garden with a green bowl. Scarlet and I are excited and want to see what he's got! What's in there.....what's in there?????

I see three tomatoes, three capsicums and two eggs. The chickens are still laying (even though we bark very loudly at them when Grandpaw forgets to put up the little schnauzer gate...BOL!)

My mum and uncie gave us schnauzers our schnauzery hair cuts last Monday..... we hate the process - (especially me!) but we do feel cooler afterwards.

I know my furiends overseas are having the opposite weathers at the moment..... so be good and stay cool..... or stay warm ..... whatever is applicable for you!!

Bye for now, Tail Wuggles, Rubie xxx

Come Garden with ME!

Hi ya,

Remember mum's orchids?????

These are lovely flowers that we grow outside in pots, but they only bloom once a year - the good thing is that they last for ages as a cut flower and we get weeks of looking at them inside.

Well - it's the time of the year when they are all finished bloomin' and they need some attention.

You see, after a few years the bulbs die off and new bulbs form - these new ones are where the flowers come from. But mum tells me, you need to pull apart the whole pot and ditch the deady bones brown bulbs and replant the bulbs with green strappy leaves coming out of them.

So - we didn't get pics of that part...... and you missed mum gettin' attacked by angry ants that she disturbed (he he he that was funny!!) - but we are now up to the repotting bit:

I sense my pup help will soon be required!

You can't use any ol' potting mix - you gotta buy the mix for orchids.

Right this pot is good to go.

Tip about 1/3 of the pot with mix, then arrange the good bulbs loosely on top. Tip more mix around and on the roots of the bulb.

This is what your woozle and nose should look like after helping.  :-)

Hey - these need to be put in a pot ma!

Yup - this one will do.

There - repotted.

I just havta make sure it's nicely even and all that!

The finished products - five pots of alive orchid bulbs - all ready for flowering next winters! Oh - and you should give all the pots a good drink of waters.

Now I know why I felt like we were bein' watched!! She lives next to the orchids.

Whew - all done - and most of that dirt fell right off my woozle. Hope you enjoyed that as much as I did! I'm only sorry we didn't get pics of the "ant incident!!!" (BOL!)

Till next time!
