The last few days

Hi all.

It's been a little dull on my side of the pond for a few days. I've had to keep mum company a lot while she has been sickies. The couch in the lounge has been "base camp" for her, and for me too. She says she had problems with her tummy, but judging from the 87 trips to the bathroom she has had (per day) I think it might be the ...ahem.... other end. Just sayin'.

Needless to say - we have caught up on a lot of recorded TV shows, but she couldn't manage to sit up and supervise my computing and blogging. I'm tryin' to catch up on the stuff I missed.

Every day - dad dad has given me a little break from my nursing duties, and taken me out for a walk and little run. We are having such lovely weather at the moment. The real hot stuff is finished and now it's just warm and nice. We even had about 15mm of rain on Wednesday so the gardens and trees and bushes and stuff are very happy too.

The really AMAZING thing that happened while mum was "down for the count" is that she approved dad dad to do an evening cookfest in HER kitchen!! He made roast chicken with all the stuff, he even had to give me my evening meal twice!! Mum says it's good for dad dad to keep his cooking skills up - and he admitted to  feelin' rusty about it!! He did good (no fire alarms or explosions), and mum didn't have to stand up. You had my support and full-faith dad dad!

I can declare that the chicken was good! Yummers even!

But don't worry, even though we couldn't go to doggie skool today :-(  mum still did local training with me in the house. She is almost 85% better she reckons.

Now - most impawtantly - I wanted to say a personal CONGRATULATIONS to my dear furiend MAGIC from the Yoooo - Kaaay. Magic had FOUR puppies this week while I was minding mum, so I wanted to send BIG HUGS and schnauzer LICKS to her and her peeps - especially Leigh. We are all over the moon. Rest up girl. If you don't know Magic click on her name to see her bloggie and send some love her way.

Gotta go now - mum is wanting to rest again and keep her fluids up. Might mean trip number 88 is coming soon!!!! BOL!

Not "the best" play day.

Hi ya,

I'm a bit subdued at the moment. You see - I have developed an owchie below my ear, and I wouldn't leave it alone because it was itchy, so I went to the V-E-T-S on Saturday and this is the result:

Sadness personified.

Then came Monday....our puppy play-day with Scarlet and Zoe. Mum and dad dad made me keep this stoopid cone on for it and everything! But I was not the only sad one on play-day.

You see - Scarlet, Zoe and uncie arrived as usual.... then uncie had to leave because he had to go to someplace and do some website and commppuuting work. So then our place was all depressed "times three!!"

Scarlet and Zoe: Waddayamean dad dad is leaving us?????

Scarlet and Zoe:  OOOhhh woe is us!!

Not even a round of piggy ears could cheer us up! My stoopid cone meant I couldn't play bitey face!

Scarlet: Auntie.....I loves you...but I really miss my dad dad when he is not with me!!!

Scarlet: Maybe a liver treat would make me feel a little better??

Scarlet: And another beef cube????

Scarlet: Was that the front door??

Scarlet: I'll just watch the road for our car.

Scarlet:   (sigh)......where is he????? All this waiting!

Zoe: Don't worry Scarlet...... he always comes back to us! He can't bear to be apart from us either!

Uncie did come back, and tried to explain to Scarlet and Zoe that he occasionally does have to do some work, otherwise they would be living on a park bench and starving....BOL!

So that problem was solved.....but it does not solve my cone-head problem. I'm stuck with this until the owchie heals!   :-(

Yay - We Are Back!

What a week we've had.

First mum was completely preoccupied on a little "health situation" she has had and done NOTHING about for ages and ages.

Then blogger went bumbkum and we lost dozens of comments that we put on all my mates blogs!! She said GGGrrrrr!

Then one day we all had to get up in the dark.... real early...... and dad and I took her to this big building called a hospital.... and she stayed there for half a day. Dad got a phone call when she was ready to be picked up.

When she came home she didn't feel like playing "tennis balls" or going on walks with me.

However, things are looking up - she is playing "tennis balls" with me today...... and she's even turned on the computer so I could give you all an update!!

Thank goodness she is gonna be okay - dad needs her help to keep me in check around here. Oh, and I have to help her with eating her food. QA an' all.

Come on ma..... throw this ball for me ....... again!!

Nurse Rubie

Hi everyone. You may have noticed not much has been happening on my bloggie lately. It's like this..... I've had to concentrate on my nursing duties for my sickies mum.

This has been my "nurses station" on the end of the couch. When I am not there (a girl needs to occasionally patrol the yard and perimeter fences etc) I make sure that Lenny the Leopard is there to keep her company.

I can't say that it has been a lot of fun..... kinda boring really watching mum be sickies....but we are watching a lot of foxtel and TV together. Another of my jobs is making sure she takes all her pills three times a day, and that she keeps her liquids up. Dad has even had to get into the kitchen more - he is in charge of our breakfasts! I do quality control of her food to make sure it is up to scratch for getting her better. I must say the toast and scrambled eggies are a winner! :-)

Dad's been feeling sorry for me, so he has been taking me out for walks to break the monotony of me watching mum get better.

It's a tough gig - but someone has to do it. We are making inroads...... I can see improvements....after all she turned on the computer for me today so I could knock up this short entry.

Anyway - gotta get back to my Nursing station now.......gotta get mum well again!

I've been Sickies

OOOhhhh, we had a bad nite last nite! I ate something for dinner on Thursday that didn't agree with my tum tums. So I threw up twice on mum's bedroom carpet, and once on the ensuite tiles. Mum seems to be happier when I throw up on a hard surface??! Then mum picked me up and put me in her bed. I was shivering for a time and she was lovingly rubbing my back and tum tum. She didn't get a lot of sleep, and was very worried about me.

This happened before when I overdosed on cheese ;-). I love cheese but can only have a little bit ;-( .

I'm feeling much better this morning...............

Wondering if I should venture out after brekky................

Yes, maybe I should.......the air doesn't smell as hot as it was yesterday! It was 36 degrees C yesterday (97 F) Urrch - I hate hot weather!

Rubie's mum: Rubie eats like a machine and we fondly call her the "slot machine" for food. However, she is still a puppy and her tummy has an aversion for changes in her evening meal. She ate breakfast as usual and appears to be "back to normal". A little tired perhaps. :-)
