Back to the BEACH - Before it gets too HOT!

Hiya my furiends,

Like my new Ruby Harness?? This was one of my Xmas gifts and the first time I got to use it was yesterday - when we hit the beach.

I know that my o/s furiends and family are having all sorts of strife with polar vortex's and just generally freezin' your furry butts off ... but we are having the opposite issues here.

We have got through a week of temps that were 40 degrees C (104F) and up to 45 (113F). Mum's tomatoes made it through (she is happy to report) but only JUST.

We had a week off to recover - back to normal summer temps (around 33 C av, 92F). Now we are going back to baking. They have forecast another week or more of very hot hot temps, with little reprieve overnight. Boy - we are gonna be KRANKY!

The big news is that yesterday mum had the bright idea to take me to the beach ..... and I said YES PAWLEEEESE!!!

Are we there yet???? (Only took 10 minutes!!)

Woo-Hooo - Chuck the ball dad dad!!!

I loves chasing the tennis ball on the beach.

I got a lot of socialising done - these were big doggies. The doggie at the bottom of the picture is a "stumpy tail cattle dog" and we had a lot of fun together.

I loved runnings in the shallows to get my ball.

Then we spotted a group of Dolphins swimming and surfing really close to shore!!

Then I played "dolphins" by swimming in the rock pools with my mum.

Having a rest on a rock in the rock pool.

Dad dad was throwing the ball for me in the rock pools too!

This little doggie was helping me dry off - and it actually barked more than me!!

What a great time - I had to be rinsed off in the baff tub at home - then mum massaged some of my nice leave in conditioner into my skin and furs. That was nice too.

Then a BIG NAP was required.

Hope my post helped to make you thaw a bit - and believe it or not - mum is thinking about planning a holiday to the SNOW this year !!!!

She's just NUTS!

  1. We've been thinkin' about you during the nightly weather reports. We've been lucky and only hit 40° once so far. We are so jealous of your beach...even without dolphins it's fantastic. We just have our muddy old river...but we do like that.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  2. Lucky you Rubie. The beach is something I long for. Have a tremendous Thursday.
    Best wishes Molly

  6. Yes your harness is really cool. Beach days rock!

  7. Hey Rubie!
Wow, it's hot there and freezing here! Don't you wish we could trade just a little and have perfect weather? That'd be nice. Your harness is beautiful and I love that dolphin pix!
    Grr and Woof,
    Sarge, Pol Comm

  8. Hi Rubie,
Yes here in Wales UK its been freezing cold, no snow like the USA yet all we have had is rain, rain and even more rain, which makes both me and Mum grumpy, but seeing the wonderful photos of your hot weather, glorious sunshine and romping wildly on the beach and h my goodness Rubie you are so good at swimming now, I can remember when you didn't like the water that much and now look at you, swimming with REAL dolphins! Pawsome! What a wonderful adventure you had, you look so happy, especially with dad dad throwing you the ball! I hope that it hasn't been too hot though, I was thinking of you when the tennis was on and they were too hot! It's great you have the beach right by you to cool those gorgeous furs! Love and licks from your puggy pal Frank XxxxX

  9. Ahwoof you are so cute. I also love all these dog friends on the beach( I haven't been to the beach but saw them on your photos) Here in my street are many dogs and I love them all, we are one big family! Paws up!

  10. Hi Rubie
I love your beach and all the cuteness that I see today,,, and I really do love your harness on you- its sooo pretty and soooo you!

  11. Maybe if we mixed our weather with yours we would get the perfect weather. Stay cool in your cool new harness.

  12. Rubie that wasa super post. Almost as good as going on holiday. Gail thought about taking me to the beach today, but I reminded her that in 35 mph wind the sand tends to blow in my eyes, and with temperatures close to freezing and heavy rain, all in all the Aberdeen city beach experience might be less attractive than what you have in Australia...
    Toodle pip!

  13. Wow, Rubie, 40 to 45C??? We'll book the flight and come visit you shortly! Until then, stay cool!

    Momo & Pinot xo

  14. Howdy Rubie, wowza and yaahoo that beach visit looked gooooood! We wish we were closer to the beach sometimes cause we love it (when mum actually gets us there!). We agree, this hot weather is making everybuddy a little cranky. C'mon cool weather. Take care sweetie pie and stay cool. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  15. Rubie, your beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen! I don't like to play in the surf like you but the rock pool looks like something I would have fun playing in. And oh, the dolphins!!! I love dolphins. We have seen them here when we are canoeing in the salt runs.

I do a Big Tail Wuggle when I get your comment!!!
