Pupdate and Hollingday Pix (Moonta Bay) Pawt 2

Hiya all,

Thanks and big licks to all my furiends who left beautiful messages to get better soon ... I did and I have! Turns out it must have just been a soft tissue injury and after my course of anti-inflammatories I was all better. My V-E-T was very pleased with my blood results and basically I'm a healthy pup all round.

Now for the funs part of my post ... Hollingday pix:

This here was a fairly common scene at the end of most days while hollingdaying at the beach at Moonta Bay. I had so much stuff to do.

Firstly there are many "walks" which are basically me runnin' about like a mad thing on the beach while chasing my tennis ball. See the look here sayin' "throw it, throw it, throw it!!!!!"

Rock pools and under jetty to explore ...

Gettin' wet ...

Swimmin' ..... love swimmin'!!

Even boats to check out on the beach ...

Then there are the dawgs to meet - this is Buddy - we had a blast together ...

So I took him back to the caravan pawk and introduced him to "Scooter" my friend.

Scooter lived one van away from us at Moonta. See her van is the big one at the very left of picture. Ours is the one with the 3 window domes and the solar panel.

When Scooter wasn't "fishing"  (looking for little fish in the shallows) she loved playing "get Rubie's ball" on the beach

She loved it so much she brought the ball back and shouted at the peeps to throw it again!! First to my dad dad,

Then to her mum Auntie Kath. Look - she even threw in some "crazy eyes" !!

We had some great times alright !!

Played until we were "knackered!!"

Knackered and a little sandy lol!!!!

(safe bet there will be a warm rinse off for me!)

The worst thing was when mum went over to Auntie Kath and Uncle Barry's van chatting and stuff - and then mum would grab Scooter and it would be all "love fest lovey dovey time"!

Mum can't help herself. Auntie Kath was such a nice lady but she sounded funny - she talked different and she said she comes from Detroit U.S.A. !! She married an Aussie (who loves to fish) and they now caravan a lot. They live in Queensland and often travel to South Australia in Jan/Feb to enjoy our caravan parks and our fishing. Nice life huh?! Mum and I send big licks and hugs - and hope very much to see you again!!

So as you see a pup needs her rest while on hollingdays ... there is just so much to do!!

Next post I'll show you more of Moonta and Moonta Bay - I know Reilly and Denny's mum always gets a kick out of seeing towns she  is familiar with ... so a little tour is coming your way!!

Bye for now.... Rubie xxx

(Another) PKW Hollingday (Normanville Beach) Pawt 1

Can you guess where I am????

Yups - I am resting in the Annex of our Peep Kennel on Wheels (PKW)

Here is Base Camp. We are camped at the Normanville Caravan Park for 10 nights. Just mum, dad dad and I are here on our own for the first 5 nights .... then we will be joined by dad dad's two sisters and their hubs.

So why am I so TIRED???

Coz I have been doing a LOT of this on the BEACH.

Coming back to camp from the beach .... if I've gone swimming:

Mum rinses the sea water off my skin and wraps me in a towel to dry off.

There are many walks too - this one is along the esplanade.

Need some help with that Ice-Cream Ma???

Sharing is Caring Ma!!!

This is the first day of my Aunties and Uncies arrival. I took them down the beach to exercise them a bit. This day was a little cool - so I knew they would "make it".

We love this particular caravan park because it has a river running through it that links to the ocean. The river is a popular fishing spot - see my Uncie K fishing (he's on the right) with his friend. They both caught fish too.

Back at camp - it got a little like a dawg park from time to time. This is MIA - she is a mini schnauzer cross shih tzu.

Here is Mia's best mate Maddie (the white Westie) and in the background is another white doggie from the caravan behind us.

You should have seen my mum SWOONING over MIA .... Mia was so CUDDLY and LOVING ....

Mum wishes I was a little more like that ... but I'm "little miss independent"

We also saw this little fella - he was lingering outside the "MENS" building.

This is dad dad and I watching TV in the PKW at the end of the day. I was exhausted!

More to come.

Bye for now!

Back to the BEACH - Before it gets too HOT!

Hiya my furiends,

Like my new Ruby Harness?? This was one of my Xmas gifts and the first time I got to use it was yesterday - when we hit the beach.

I know that my o/s furiends and family are having all sorts of strife with polar vortex's and just generally freezin' your furry butts off ... but we are having the opposite issues here.

We have got through a week of temps that were 40 degrees C (104F) and up to 45 (113F). Mum's tomatoes made it through (she is happy to report) but only JUST.

We had a week off to recover - back to normal summer temps (around 33 C av, 92F). Now we are going back to baking. They have forecast another week or more of very hot hot temps, with little reprieve overnight. Boy - we are gonna be KRANKY!

The big news is that yesterday mum had the bright idea to take me to the beach ..... and I said YES PAWLEEEESE!!!

Are we there yet???? (Only took 10 minutes!!)

Woo-Hooo - Chuck the ball dad dad!!!

I loves chasing the tennis ball on the beach.

I got a lot of socialising done - these were big doggies. The doggie at the bottom of the picture is a "stumpy tail cattle dog" and we had a lot of fun together.

I loved runnings in the shallows to get my ball.

Then we spotted a group of Dolphins swimming and surfing really close to shore!!

Then I played "dolphins" by swimming in the rock pools with my mum.

Having a rest on a rock in the rock pool.

Dad dad was throwing the ball for me in the rock pools too!

This little doggie was helping me dry off - and it actually barked more than me!!

What a great time - I had to be rinsed off in the baff tub at home - then mum massaged some of my nice leave in conditioner into my skin and furs. That was nice too.

Then a BIG NAP was required.

Hope my post helped to make you thaw a bit - and believe it or not - mum is thinking about planning a holiday to the SNOW this year !!!!

She's just NUTS!

Hollingdays again! - Port Vincent Pawt 3 (finals)

Hiya again,

I just read about the accident that Puddles' mom had and now has a banged up elbow. I just want to report that I also has a stoopids mum. She was getting out her BIG bucket of grout (weighs, like a tonne) out of the garage and while holding the 20 kilogram bucket at eye level, she turned and tripped over another bucket.... and BAM ..... hit the concrete floor (covered only by thin matting) like a "sack of spuds". The whole suburb shook, my furiends! Lucky for me she seems to be mostly oks..... with complaining about bruising and pains in multiples places, mostly the left knee really. It would pay to be more careful mum!!

Anywho back to the final thrilling instalment of my Port Vincent Hollingday. Here goes:

Another day in Paradise!

I ran around on my beach in front of Base Camp - chasin' my tennis ball of course, and meetin' more locals.

Oh - and for all those cheeky comments about Ottmar being my boyfriend...... wrong! My heart belongs to another (see my sidebar). Ottmar is awesome because he is one of my kind - all schnauzery like and excellent company!

Now for an update on uncie K's fishing on our trip:

Here I am providing moral support and checking out his fishing "bucket"

While the fishing was underway, we went on a short town walk along the esplanade - see me in front

It was such a nice walkway with cool solar lights alongside.

Back to the jetty to check on the fishing!

Here is uncie K sitting on the edge of the jetty and flinging me his fish. "Check that out Rubie!" He says.

What the HECK is that!!?????

YIKES!!!! It's ALIVE and FLIPPIN' all over the place!! This is an action shot of me tryin' to get close enough to paw it..... with my paws of DOOM!!

Now I know what you are thinkin'...... it's a little small huh? Well yes this fish is called a "Tommy Ruff" and this is full grown size. They are small but very yummy - uncie K and auntie B had to clean and fillet about 30 of them for our din dins the next day. They don't like that part of fishing.

The next day auntie B wanted us to eat the little fishys. This is the town beachside BBQ and shelter in front of the pristine swimming beach. We BBQ'd the little fish with butter and garlic on baking papers!

The peeps also bought hot chippies from the Kiosk next to the Shelter. Afterwards there was ice-cream in cones too.

Those Tommy Ruffs were Lip Smackin' GOOD my furiends!! You were so right Goose - fishing is GOOD!!!

So my furiends, that was another report on Hollingdays in the PKW. Hope you enjoyed it!

Now we must plan the next one.
