Welcome to my FIRST Birthday!!

Hi! Yesterday I turned ONE! Initially, I wasn't that excited because I didn't know what a birthday was...... but I soon "cottoned-on"!

Here is an "official First birthday" photo portrait.

My day was a beautiful and sunny day - and improved when my pawty guests arrived - Scarlet, Zoe and uncie. These are my Birthday presents..... a duckie stuffie (that honks), 1kg bag of chicken flavoured milk bones and a poop-a-doop bag dispenser. That last one is more for my pawrents.....they are in charge of my poop-a-doops!!

And check out the amazing doggie on the packaging from the duckie!! Schnauzer approved!

Ooooooooo! ...........I spy with my widdle eyes..........

I do believe that I see my homemade Birthday Cookies!!!!!!

We got to nom the carob hearts............

And little Zoe got up on her back legs to get her yoghurt teddy!! Yummers!!!!!!

After our cookies......we got into more bitey face and general growling and playing with each other!

Let the PAWTY begin!! CHECK OUT MY BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!!!! Mum made it for me!! It's even got a candle on it!

ZOE: I don't really know what's going on here - but there is one thing I know - I'm not happy with the HAT!

Hey Scarlet!  This cake of mine smells really good...... do you think that's ricotta cheese??

SCARLET: Yup Rubie, I believe that is ricotta cheese, and I can also smell vienna sausage!
Yea - Yummers! And if you chomp down past the ricotta - you get to the MEATLOAF!
ZOE: I don't care about my hat now...... check us out!

Hey - girls don't shake your heads with these things on!! See what happens!!

This was my Birthday Dinners...... it was a BIG HIT with the 3 of us! Scarlet and Zoe got to take some "leftovers" home with them. My bowl is the one with the "Happy Birthday" thingy in it!

It was such a great day.....we had a ball! I'm happy I could share my Birthday with all my readers too - pity I couldn't send you all a slice - but trust me......it was GOOD!!!!!!!! I'll try and get mum to post the recipe so there can be no excuses from your pawrents!

YUMMERS! - Welsh Cakes!!!!

We went to visit Grandpaw yesterday. Mum cooks dinner and sweets (and washes lots of dishes) and I play with my cousins, Scarlet and Zoe. We then wait for noms from the dinner table - because eating our dinners is NEVER enough for our schnauzer tummies!

Thanks to my dear mate George The Lad's Blog - mum saw a post from last year which gave us a Welsh Cake recipe. She is an adventurous cook, and likes to mix it up a bit, and she has never had or made a Welsh Cake before.

Cooking the first side in a dry heavy based pan.

Flipping them over - mum cracked a couple because she used a flat blade knife to turn them - she found an egg flip spatula worked better (the second batch were perfect)!

YAY!!!! They looked awesome......now we must wait for our tastes! Mum bought some Strawberry, Blueberry and Cranberry conserve for the occasion.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.........COME ON PEOPLE!!! We need to try George's cakes TOO!!

Here's me sayin' "my mum made these Scarlet, that means I get FIRST tastes!!!"

I'm watching nicely (saliva building) while Grandpaw tastes his share.

Uncie made us pause for the flashy box before we got to try our bits! He gave us all a bit of his share....he did get the most after all! There is no photo of us eating.....because it is a BLURR of chewing and swallowing very quickly - but yes George, we ALL tasted your Welsh Cakes - and they get FOUR PAWS UP from us!!!!

Mum wishes me to mention that she gave each of us schnauzers some of her share. Love my mum!

After dinner we adjourned to the lounge - and got back to playing chasey and bitey face. Don't my eyes look evil in this photo?!

What's all this excitement about???? Zoe and me were meeesmerized!

We found a black bug to harass - see Zoe's schnauzer shadow....

Scarlet got bored with the bug quickly....and waited for us to "get over it".

Mum taking a photo of Zoe's cute face.

This is the usual end to a play time with my cousins....... pooped....

Pooped.......

And pooped!

Our work here is done.

Feedback from humans re: Welsh Cakes - We found them to be light and yummy too, a different texture to a cake per se, but well worth the exercise......try them - but you need to be patient when cooking them - don't rush the dry frying! A little splash of milk was required to bring the dough together prior to the refrigeration. All in all - a great success! Thanks George and your humans!

Family Day at Auntie Judy's

You guys remember when I got to go to a "Family Do" Day about a month ago? - rather than gettin' stuck at home - on my own - watching the fur on my paws growin'!!

Well........... I was such a hit I got to go to another one.... this time my dad's cousin, auntie judy was the "hostess with the mostess". I never been to this place before!

Here I am with "my stuff" - my picnic blankie, pink faux fur pillow, two stuffies and two balls. My stuff was put in the middle of the circle of peoples coz I'm the centre of attention.

There was LOTS of sniffing of stuff to do.

Explorin' the grass and the bushes and the trees.

Here I am examining the exterior of the people circle.

And I must "schnoofle" various places with my woozle.

I also weaved in and out the circle of people.

General observation...........

FINALLY - someone came down with a plate of FOOD!!!!!!

Don't worry..... I'm comin' lightening speed..... like the wind....... you may need some help with that yellow plate....... I'm here to assist!!

RATS...... didn't get to help with that food.... but my mum packed some food for me and I had it on my picnic rug!! ALL GOOD!!

I had a great day! Hope your Sunday was great too!! Thanks for inviting me auntie judy!
