It's hard to get good help / Cousin Sitting

Hi there my furiends…… yes I'm still here ……. yes I'm still playing …… but - seriously- I've been having all sorts of trouble trying to motivate my mum into helping me with my blogging. I know - you are shocked…right!!?? I'm thinking about running an ad and hiring a capable and motivated human to switch on the big computer and assist me with my very entertaining blogging. Know anyone??? Please let me know.

Turns out that my mum has been having a medical issue which she says is partly to blame for this lapse in her motivation …. she had some blood tests recently and it turns out that she is very "a-nee-mick" and even had chunks of her furs fall out ….. and is about to have a bunch of more medical tests and stuffs …. I know she will be Okays. Let's just hope that my bloggie doesn't crash and burn suffer too much longer. Just sayin'.

***************

Now I had better let you know of some of the stuffs you missed.

My cousins Scarlet and Zoe stayed with us for almost a week while their dad dad (my uncie) went away with "the boys"!

The above photo is the first night where Scarlet sat on the rug and stared at the front door waiting  for her dad dad to return. Zoe was not too worried but kept her company.

Scarlet was much better after the first night and soon they were both on the daily walks routine with me. Here we are at the duck pond with Daffy (see white duck on water). Daffy wasn't too keen to come close to me because he wasn't sure of my cousins (he must have heard of the "incident"involving  Zoe and a chicken!!)

 They enjoyed themselves very much.

Here is Scarlet having a little rest after walkies.

Look how cute Zoe's one eared "salute" is!!

There is a serious downside of having houseguests. On BBQ chicken night - MY TREATS are shared three ways instead of just slotting into my mouth!

Look how fast my tail is wuggling - I loves BBQ chicken night!!

So you got any more Chicken ma????!!!!?? Don't try and hide any from my crazy eyes!!

While mum was in her office not helping with MY bloggie doing office stuffs, Scarlet and Zoe napped next to her chair while I napped under the desk.

See Zoe looking surprised that Scarlet is sharing the bed ….. normally Scarlet doesn't like to be too close to her little sister.

But they had a good time ….. and were very happy to see their dad dad again.

Like this:
Scarlet - enjoying the very BEST place in her world!!

8th July stuffs

Hiya all,

Just wanted to give you the low-down on my Yesterday.

Yesterday was a very nice day. Even though we are having Winters here..... it was a clear and sunny glorious day.

My dad dad turned like 87,000 dog years old. So I gave him three presents and a card that mum and I made.

I could help him unwrap stuff - but dealing with the sticky tape on my furry paws was something else!

My cousins Scarlet and Zoe came over - here is Scarlet on the blue recliner - in the middle of a game of bitey hand with her dad dad.

With Zoe observing from a safe distance..... plotting what she can get up to next!

Everything was going to usual plan.... playing....napping and our dinners....

THEN..... *(GASPS)*

Mum and dad dad started putting nice clothes on, mum put on war paints on her face and phew smelly stuff sprays on!!

And they took my uncie and then they drove off leaving us fur-kids at home.....ALONE!!

They went someplace where they have stuffs like this given to them!!!

And the worst thing of ALLLLLL - you GUESSED it - NO DOGGIE BAGS FOR US WHEN THEY GOTS HOME!

*(HUMPH)*!!!

Take it from me ...... Revenge will be SWEET!!!

Guest (Cousin) Post: Meet Our Friend Hattie!

Hi Everyone,

I'm feeling particularly lazy unmotivated today...so I'm going to hand over my bloggie to my cousins, Scarlet and Zoe. They want to introduce you to their furend.

Don't make fun of my "bed head" ....oh...I mean "bed woozle"!

Scarlet: Hi Ya! Meet our furend Hattie! She's an Airedale Terrier - look how big she is!!

Hattie: How Ya doing?? Pleased to meet you!!

Scarlet: We are over at her digs, because my dad dad has packed the buzzy clipper thingy, and Hattie is gonna "cop it" He He He........

Hattie: UUUUrrrrcccchhhh..............(*mental note to self*) : should have locked the front gates today.

Scarlet: This is Hattie after enduring HOURS of the buzzy clipper thingy!!

Hattie: It's OK for you girls.....you got to chew bones on the grass while I was being tortured!! But hey, don't I look slimmer with my winter furs off!! Pretty No??

Zoe: Isn't it hard to get a good picture of all three of us together? Here you can see uncie M's knee and foot, he's Hattie's dad dad!

Hattie: Check out my yellow ball - it is showing evidence of my "jaws of steel"!!!   :-)

Scarlet: Here we are trotting through the "toy infected" family room - Hattie has a baby peep sister who plays with lots of colourful things...... a bit like us really!

Hattie: That's when she is not playing with me!

Hattie: Do you like this angle??

Zoe and Scarlet: Yes we do - so where are all the "good girl" treats for making it through the buzzy clipper thingy!!??

Hattie: Scarlet - you already got into the bread that we were saving for the ducks!!

Scarlet: Well I was hungry.... and it was........ reachable!! (*licks chops*)

Hattie: Listen up, we need to try and bust through the little gate to get to the food room..... are you in??

Scarlet: Let's give it a go!

Zoe: Ok everyone, we are going to go and get our treat rewards now.....Hattie says there are foodables on the other side of the little white gate!

Hattie, Scarlet and Zoe: Let us in, Let us in!!!! We want treats!! We want treats!!

Scarlet: Geez, service is slow around here!

Scarlet: If I sit here looking all cute..... do you think the magic gate will open???

Hattie: I hope so! If I can get in there I can reach anything that is on top of those counters, and can even reach into quite a few shelves in that there pantry cupboard.....(*winks*)

Scarlet: Now I would like to be able to do that!! Being short is sometimes a DRAG!!

Thanks for that post Scarlet and Zoe...........and it was lovely meeting Hattie. I need to meet her in the fur one day! Now all I have to say is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !!

Pink Coat Play-Day....No where to hide

Hi everyone. I was unsuccessful in hiding the coats for my cousins, Scarlet and Zoe. When they arrived for  our usual play-day...it was like a sea of pink. Feel our pain:

First we had to ALL have our coats on and have a photo shoot on the blue recliner chairs.

Zoe and me staring at a liver treat in mum's hand so uncie could take this pic.

Me tryin' to be happy about all this.

Scarlet went and stood by the door ... she wanted to get outside.  Zoe (looking a bit stiff) backing up her wishes.

Scarlet: Let me OUT, and stop taking pictures!

Ahhhhh, we made it out and were able to sniff about and enjoy the great outdoors. Mum wants you to know HOW HARD it was to get us all in one photo together! People in their cars were staring at all our gorgeousness when they spotted us!

Look on the bright side Scarlet...at least mum took our hoods off!

Another "hard earned pic" with the three of us in the photo!

Zoe doin' her "pointer" position while sizing me up in the garden!

Scarlet and I sat conveniently in front the old mirror that mum found (she is going to smash it up and use it in her mosaics).

Zoe thought it was a good idea so she thought she'd give it a go too.

One final pic - mum loves this shot of Scarlet, and I managed to put in my cute face....and Zoe is showin' her tail....so technically - the three of us are all in this shot too!!

I know we whinged about the coats.....but in Adelaide we are having a bit of a cold snap with lots of rainy days and temperature of 17-18 degrees celsius (62 F) ( which is VERY cold for us ) so it was good to try em' out. It helped that we all had the coats on together and saw that we COULD move....and that loosened us up considerably. When it was just me at home alone with it on....I wasn't sure how much I could move (as my blogger friends hinted) !!

Scarlet and Zoe even went home wearing their coats...they didn't seem to mind. Besides we are always very tired at the end of the play-days!

YUMMERS! - Welsh Cakes!!!!

We went to visit Grandpaw yesterday. Mum cooks dinner and sweets (and washes lots of dishes) and I play with my cousins, Scarlet and Zoe. We then wait for noms from the dinner table - because eating our dinners is NEVER enough for our schnauzer tummies!

Thanks to my dear mate George The Lad's Blog - mum saw a post from last year which gave us a Welsh Cake recipe. She is an adventurous cook, and likes to mix it up a bit, and she has never had or made a Welsh Cake before.

Cooking the first side in a dry heavy based pan.

Flipping them over - mum cracked a couple because she used a flat blade knife to turn them - she found an egg flip spatula worked better (the second batch were perfect)!

YAY!!!! They looked awesome......now we must wait for our tastes! Mum bought some Strawberry, Blueberry and Cranberry conserve for the occasion.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.........COME ON PEOPLE!!! We need to try George's cakes TOO!!

Here's me sayin' "my mum made these Scarlet, that means I get FIRST tastes!!!"

I'm watching nicely (saliva building) while Grandpaw tastes his share.

Uncie made us pause for the flashy box before we got to try our bits! He gave us all a bit of his share....he did get the most after all! There is no photo of us eating.....because it is a BLURR of chewing and swallowing very quickly - but yes George, we ALL tasted your Welsh Cakes - and they get FOUR PAWS UP from us!!!!

Mum wishes me to mention that she gave each of us schnauzers some of her share. Love my mum!

After dinner we adjourned to the lounge - and got back to playing chasey and bitey face. Don't my eyes look evil in this photo?!

What's all this excitement about???? Zoe and me were meeesmerized!

We found a black bug to harass - see Zoe's schnauzer shadow....

Scarlet got bored with the bug quickly....and waited for us to "get over it".

Mum taking a photo of Zoe's cute face.

This is the usual end to a play time with my cousins....... pooped....

Pooped.......

And pooped!

Our work here is done.

Feedback from humans re: Welsh Cakes - We found them to be light and yummy too, a different texture to a cake per se, but well worth the exercise......try them - but you need to be patient when cooking them - don't rush the dry frying! A little splash of milk was required to bring the dough together prior to the refrigeration. All in all - a great success! Thanks George and your humans!
