Happy Easter ( it WAS!)

We went to Grandpaws' place for Easter Sunday. We met my Auntie and Uncie, along with Scarlet and Zoe there.

Me, Scarlet and Zoe - admiring the Easter Table Setting.

If you look close - you can see OUR doggie "easter egg cookies" mum made special for us given we cannot eat chocolate ones. They are this side of centre in little cello bags with gold ribbons. They are "chicken satay with seeds" flavour.

Mum and auntie prepared lunch - they had creamy potato bake, roast pumpkin, roast pork and gravy, duck confit with sour cherry sauce and buttered parsley carrots. It's smelled so yummers!!!

My eyes were firmly on that duck and pork!!!

After peep lunch, and our sampling, we each got a doggie "easter egg" - mum made them all pretty with stickers and stuff.

ZOE:    OOOoooooo peel the eggies auntie!!!!!!!! Quick!

So mum peeled them - one by one (far too slowly for our liking) - and we each got a whole easter egg to nom.

I woofed mine down.

Zoe Zoes was next.

And then Scarlet got hers - see how dainty she takes her pieces. Not like me - mum has to be careful she doesn't lose a finger with my technique!!

All of a sudden - uncie, mum and I went outside - and I suddenly got nervous because there was grooming equipments set up.

So I got my hairs trimmed    :-(

Mum says I really needed it because I couldn't see through my eyebrows anymore. What would she know!!

I got to play at "half time" with my cousins to blow off some pent up "steam" from standin' on the groomin' table.

See my face not done yet - and my peeps think the "tassle" on the end of my tail is "CUTE" - I pointed to the breed grooming expectation of a mini schnauzer and there is nothing like this goin' on!! My mate Magic's mum will tell ya! It's sooo hard to get good help.

ZOE: Hurry up with your hair cut Rubie - I am waiting for sweets to be served!!!

The peeps had their sweets (white chocolate and passionfruit mousse) served inside chocolate eggs!!! You can get the full recipe from mum's personal blog (link in my sidebar) - it will go up shortly.

Us doggies had some chicken satay egg cookies - sorry mum was too occupied doin' dishes and stuff to get the pics. Dad dad gave them to us.

When I got home - I just wanted to snooze on my couch with my new Chicken easter Stuffie.

I just want to say - even with the hair-cut - that was a great day, and I hope your Easter was as Happy as MINE was!!!!! (minus the grooming bit of course!)

Tail Wuggles, Rubie xxx ooo xxx

Santy Paws!!!!

Hiya, Wow do I have news to report, I met Santy Paws in pawson. My doggie bakery "The Woofery" had a Christmas function for all us woofers, and the highlight was meeting the big red man in pawson! So here are shots of the day:

When we arrived..... there seemed to be a queue of doggies and their peeps forming.

These two were in the queue behind me.....

And this beefy lot were in the queue ahead of me....

Then I spied what was ahead...... the end destination of the queue. This is Ralph on Santy Paws, he is being so good sitting there like that.

Our queue filed past the Woofery tasting table (whoa!!!   I'd definitely help them with the tastings - mum grabbed me a plate)

Uh Oh......... he's a little scary "in the furs"........I'm very hesitant in this shot

Then I realise he has a whole stocking of doggie cookies FOR ME in his hand. THIS I will pose sweetly for!!!!

These two have their hats on for Santy Paws.

We even met up with dad dad's cousin and her hubby, they brought Peppercorn and Abigail to meet Santy Paws!

Then more and more mini schnauzers started to join the party!! I socialised with all of them. Leroy is on the left and the other is only a pup of about 7 months old.....I forgot his name, sorry.

Four schnauzers and one non schnauzer - all of us making it impossible to get a good photo!

This schnauzer is "princess" she is an ex-show doggie and I'm tryin' to work out where her tail is!! There seems to be just a little nubbin.

I scored lots of pats and scritches!

This doggie got into the spirit of the costume!

After eatin' my fill and meetin' lotsa new furiends, it was time to go home - I was exhausted.

When we got home - mum opened my stocking to photograph the goodies inside for you. Look how patient I am sitting and waiting.

My Cookies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh......OK mum I can fit in another!!!

So, that was my visit to meet Santy Paws - I might have to try and sit on his lap next time!!

COOKIE TIME: Chicken and Chia Cookies

Remember when mum ordered some cookie cutters from the USA through ebay? Well she FINALLY tried em' out....here we are sharing our secret:

Hmmmmmm......... Chicken and Chia cookies!

First you get your mum to steam some boneless chicken (in our case it's thighs) and allow to cool. In a food processor you munch them till real real fine.

Munched.

Then you help your mum with the clean up of any rogue bits of chicken left on the edge of the bench. I'm on my real tippy toes here!

Any leftover munched chicken can be frozen for more cookies at another time. We put about 1 1/4 cups of munched chicken into a big bowl.

Then mum munched 1/2 cup of bran till fairly munched.

Then she added 1/2 cup of wholemeal flour to the bowl.

The red things are dried Goji berries (this gave sweetness without direct sugar - but if you don't have gojis - you could use dried fruit of choice) and we munched these in the processor - they were about 1/3 cup. Then add a good heaped tablespoon of Chia seeds direct to the big bowl.

Mum grated a medium carrot and added it to the bowl. It almost came to a cup.

Mum then cracked in one egg ...... are you gettin' all this furends????

It was starting to smell good.

Mum made up a 50/50 solution of skim milk and water - and after combining the stuff in the bowl - found she only needed about half of it to make the mixture come together.

It is fairly sticky - so we ended up using more wholemeal flour and was generous with it on the bench. Spread out the dough and flatten it with your palms. Don't help here furends - fur will impede progress.

Pass your mum the cookie cutters you want. I pawed over the bone cutter.

Put little bones on lined trays and bake in oven at 180-190 degrees for about 35 min.

See - here they are baked and we are puttin' them on racks to cool. See - I pawed over my giant doggie paw cutter and she made me one to avoid an argument!

TASTE TEST TIME!!!! See - I know my "leave it" command!

Nom nom nom nom..........YUMMERS!!

Another one???????? Pawlease!!!!!!

She's such a pushover........... I gotta say........these get my stamp of approval! (Is that a cookie crumb on my nose??)
