More Birdie FUNS (with my cousins this time)!!!

Hiya all,

Just a quick one for your viewing and listening pleasure. Here you will see my naughty, cheeky, "top-knot pigeon" knocking at the dining room window. This time my cousins Scarlet (red collar) and Zoe (orange collar) were there to participate in all the funs.

Be warned (mum said I have to warn you ..... ) this video contains high pitched mini schnauzer voices. Can be known to crack wine glasses and make human ears bleed. REALLY MUM ??!! You do know how to exaggerate!!!!

Be BRAVE ....... it's Baby PEEP Day!!

Look - I know some of you dawgs out there are very brave when it comes to little and baby Peeps .... but not I. I didn't have much exposure to small and smallish peeps while I was a wee pup .... then when I got older and starting getting' out to parks and stuff .... I came across these small peeps - who spent a great deal of time squealing, shouting, flinging their arms about, and worst of all .... doing these things while rushing to me!!!

So you can imagine - I am not good today with little peeps. I do not trust easy.... and my timid side really comes to the fore.

So this day - mum pulled me aside and told me that we were getting special visitors .... and one of them was a Baby Peep and a child peep too ...... and that I had to be good and brave.

Firstly - when they arrived I did a lot of barking (ear piercing loud barking) to let them all know I was VERY UNSURE about their arrival. Mum was not happy with this..... but it's what I do!

Eventually - the barking stopped.

Let me introduce Baby Peep Gemma. Her mum and my mum used to work together for the Government. They now live in Queensland and are two plane trips away from us.

I needed a little bit of treat encouragement to get in the same shot as Baby Gemma.

See getting a little closer.

I especially like the tum rubs!!!

Mum was happy to be slobbering all over the little Peep - and even offered to KEEP HER (!!!! :-0 )

I dunno about that - nothing terrible happened to me during the visit ...... and she was kinda cute .....

But Keeping her....... I don't think her mum would like that !!

At one stage Gemma was lying on my rug and I went right up and sniffed her! Strange new smells indeed.

But the visit was over and they had to go back home. Mum said I was Brave - but said I could have been a little Braver ....

Something to work on I guess my furiends!

Bye for now xxx

Intruder (dead bird) Edition

Hiya all,

Today I was awoken with a start....when mum let out a HUGE sneeze.....really....that woman can really SNEEZE !!.  The whole of MY bed shook! So I got up first....and headed for the outdoors so my yard and perimeter check could commence.

I headed out my doggie-door and turned right and then right again. What did I see before me????? THIS:

A dead BIRD lying in my garden!! (PeeS: For the purpose of providing you, my readers, with a visual....mum has recreated the event with my plastic quacky duck...... ) The real thing was about the same size and the peeps called it a pigeon.

I was VERY brave..... and unsure if it was actually dead...... I BARKED and BARKED and BARKED at it telling it IT WAS NOT OKAY TO SLEEP IN MY GARDEN.......

Mum had gone to get dad dad to collect the intruder (dead bird) because she didn't want to touch it. What a chicken!!

I was shaking with excitement and mum had to lure me back inside with the aid of jingling the "liver treat" jar. Mum was concerned I might get all brave and pick it up and run around with it...... AS IF! I was too bizzy telling it off!

Then dad dad came and picked it up and took it for its trip to the bridge. (Could we have made a pie out of it??? I ask myself.) I was very interested in sniffing where it had been lying.

It's not the same with the "recreated" pictures..... the real deal was much more exciting - but I wanted to include you, my friends, because it was an exciting event! I'm here to share.

Yard Patrol

Hi again. In this post I am gonna take you through some of my impawtant duties as "top schnauzer".....(well only schnauzer) member of this patch of land. Now, mum is worried because I'm postin' lots of photos taken from BEHIND....so you will all see lots of my bum bum.......but we gotta face it....we all gots one - and I couldn't be bothered pasting little stars over it...so brace yourselves!!

Here I am surveying the street that runs up to my house and land. Hang on.....there is an unauthorised infiltration of the road by a walker!!!

This is where one runs through these two bushes and WOOFS at the top of ones abilities, and let them know just how unimpressed I, the guard schnauzer, is about it!!!

I've been told that my explosion of loud woofing is enough to cause a heart attack - a valuable tool to stopping any bad guys!

That showed them a thing or six!!! Don't they know that there is no authorised walking on my streets without my prior consent, in triplicate!! Humph!

Do I spy one of the peeps across the road try to walk around their own front yards!!!!!! How dare they check their letterboxes without gaining my CONSENT!!!!! More woofing required here!!!

Look at my angry face. I'ts OK now ma, I scared them back inside their house!!! They will be thinking long and hard before tryin' that stunt of letter collection again!!

Ruh Roh - Brad the turtle is tryin' to tell me something!

Brad has just informed me that there are peeps with a dog coming up my street!! Boy this turtle is like "Radar" offa "M*A*S*H"!

Woof Woof and double Woof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People please, there are procedures you MUST follow!! Don't flaunt my territory laws!!

Another curious thing my furiends, my mum reckons that my "big girl bark" is soooo loud that it makes her ears bleed! Fancy that...... I've been watching the passers by as I'm giving them my best barks....and I haven't seen any bleeding yet...but I will keep tryin'!!!!

Hum da dee dum...... a little bit a selective digging is also within my duties......

And if one is lucky, you can find yummers decomposing stuffs to nom on.  ;-)

Another of my duties is to monitor new arrivals to my garden patch. Here are two concrete balls that mum slipped in - she tells me that they will be mosaic'd soon (schnauzer eyes rolling upward)

Come on people.........just because this is an "outside" bench doesn't mean you can neglect your duties of dusting away the cobwebs.......unless you want me to do it with my schnauzery beard/woozle!! In fact, bringing in cobwebs and assorted organic matter in my beard to display proudly - is one of my duties. no??!???

So you see everyone, there is lots to do around here for a little dog. The peeps are so laid back about territory infiltration, that they get angry at me about my barking (*yes really!*). Don't they know that I can alert them to any impending burglar, and potentially "floor" that peep by making their ears bleed or delivering a heart-attack!!

Where is the thanks, the gratitude!!!!!!???????

A typical day in my life.

Our nice sunny weather is continuing (even though it's cold) and I wanted to show you our local park when it's nice and green:

We have had some healthy rain..... and my park has really appreciated it!

That's me on my way home.

Mum and I are now in our front garden.... and I am patrolling my street from ONE of my vantage points.

OOOoooo.... I see something - a person trying to walk on the other street (they didn't get my prior permission to do that!) ..... better WOOF real loud at that!! Can you see I am being looked at from under that fence??

That's a visiting doggie across the street, and he is looking at the spectacle I make of myself when I bark very loudly!!

See - you can kinda see my mouth in mid "Big-girl" bark....so much so that my voice echoes through my ravine and all around the neighbourhood!! Mum is not pleased with me and is trying to get me to stop. As if!!!! I stop for NO PEEP! After all, I have a job to do, and that is to ward off any potential threat to my peace and property!

To distract me from my surveillance activities....mum points out a little bee on some of our flowers....

Then she PROUDLY points out how many flower spikes her orchid has!!

When they start to open, she brings em' inside so we have fresh flowers for weeks in the house.

Ah well, to the office we go - ma says I have a blog post to do......after a little relaxin' - I get to the computer - and write you this!!

Have a great day everyone!

Perimeter BREACH!!!

I'm a very ALERT mini schnauzer - nuthin' gets past me when it comes to my place and my yard. My alarm is VERY loud - mum calls it my "big girl voice" and I really go to town on anything that is "non- authorised" around me.

Take the following for example. I detect an intruder and his big white van on the top level of my property. Therefore, I go BALLISTIC with my "big girl voice" and get dad to check on what the heck is going on.

Now..... wouldn't you go BALLISTIC if you saw this out your Parents' bedroom window???? It was my duty! Ma said he even has a "plumbers crack".... whatever that is??!!

Hmmm - very suspicious indeed. My pa went out and conferred with the man in the bright top.

Ha - here he is going backwards and forwards to his van gettin' stuff, and then fiddling with our water meter in the bushes.

All this surveillance is good on the comfy mink blanket. Apparently the man is from the water company and they are switchin' over our meter - he called it "preventative maintenance". In that case, you are authorised by me, the mini schnauzer, to go about your business - but do it and GO!

Note I take my surveillance seriously - never taking my eyes off the intruder!  And not even givin' you guys a sweet smile for the blog. I was busy. Next time I promise.

Ohhh - before I forget - don't forget to check out the Third Annual Bandana Day over at The Portuguese Water Blog...... I'm there in my green. But I'm not from South Africa, I'm from South Australia (a small typo I'm sure).
